 2001 - ? (still ongoing)

mitSprache is a model project for the language and sociocultural integration of children, young people and parents from immigrant families.
Cooperation partners of the project are the Office for Multicultural Affairs (AmkA) Amt für multikulturelle Angelegenheiten (AmkA), the State Education Authority (Staatliches Schulamt) along with several Frankfurt schools and day-care centres and their agencies.
The objective of mitSprache is to reflect upon, to further practically develop and to implement the previously existing educational approaches and experiences in internal school work groups in the areas of:

  • German as a second language (DaZ)
  • Multilingualism
  • Parents' work and
  • further training for educators and teachers... reflect, develop while focusing on practice and make exemplary implementations. The special feature of this concept is to view these focal points as areas of operation that are intertwined.
Detailed documentation on the course of the project to date is available in German from AmkA”.

Description of the project (and its ideas – games – activities – exercises):

Other interesting information

The model project concentrates also on multilingualism, which is the most interesting part for our project, Multilingual Families. The project part dealing with multilingualism provides an extensive guidance / a report with very many ideas and suggestions for activities and exercises in multilingual classes tested in schools in Frankfurt and worked out in cooperation with educators.
